You'll hear a change in the hydraulic sound and the engine will lug a bit. Then you can turn the knob. And the knob only turns clockwise. Probably need to raise the rockshaft all the way to take the weight off of the lock. I believe that most of these height knobs/locks will not move when the weight of the mower deck is resting on them. Just make sure its lifted all the way, then try to move your knob.
